Abstract

|
It is now recognized that the morphologic CT pattern of contrast enhancement of hepatic tumor, as well as the detectability of focal hepatic tumor with CT are influenced by both histologic composition of the tumor and technique of contrast agent administration and CT scanning. Because of the different morphologic manifestation of hepatic tumor of the same histologic type, the ability to make a specific diagnosis of hepatic tumor on the basis of CT findings only remains controversial Although virtually all hepatic tumor display a spectrum of patterns that overlap, hepatocelluar carcinoma may manifest characteristic morphologic pattern of CT and thus CT morphologic criteria of hepatocellular carcinoma in relation to gross pathologic feature is reviewed
